260 "The Field Piece" 260 is a 2004 4WD Chevrolet 3500 chassis with a crew cab and 8 Ft. bed. It features a 9000 lb. Portable Winch with Connection Ports on the front and back of the vehicle, a 250 G.P.M. Briggs & Stratton single stage pump with a 250 Gal. booster tank. This pumper is equipped with 200 Ft. of 1 1/4 in. hard jacket booster hose on a reel, 100 Ft. of 1 in. soft jacket forestry hose, 50 Ft. of 1 3/4 in. soft jacket structural hose in a roll, a 10 Ft. hard suction sleeve, line rakes, ash beaters, a pitch fork, soft Indian tanks, a chain saw, a Pulaski axe, an A.E.D. and a medical bag with oxygen.
Command 26 "Thing 1" "Townsend Command" Command 26, the first of the twins, is a 2008 4WD Ford F250 chassis with a crew cab and capped 6 Ft. bed. This truck features a 12 volt power inverter and a 6 Ft. roll out tray that is equipped with incident command tactical and accountability boards, incident action plan forms, an A.E.D, a medical bag with oxygen, irons, S.C.B.A. and portable 800 MHz radios. Command 26 is used by our Officers, through a weekly Duty Officer rotation, to respond to in-district incidents to establish and maintain a Command presence during incident mitigation.
Utility 26 "Thing 2" "The Work Horse" Utility 26, the second of the twins, is a 2008 4WD Ford F250 chassis with a crew cab and 6 Ft. bed. This truck carries a fully equipped trauma/medical bag and AED. Utility 26 is used to transport FD Personnel to and from Fire School and enhance our departments mobility in the mitigation of incidents.
262 is a 2004 Pierce Enforcer Chassis with a 6 passenger cab and Pierce Rescue Pumper body, used as a Class A pumper. It features a 1500 G.P.M. Hale single stage, rear mount pump with a 900 Gal. booster tank. This pumper is equipped with 2- 200 Ft. hand lines of 1 3/4 in. soft jacket hose preconnected in speed lay, 150 Ft. of 2 1/2 in. soft jacket hose preconnected off the rear bed, 1000 Ft. of 4 in. LDH in dead lay, 3- 8 Ft. hard suction sleeves, 48 Ft. of ground ladders, salvage and overhaul equipment, ventilation equipment, IDLH monitoring equipment, Class B Haz-mat equipment and a full compliment of RIT equipment. 262 is our first in attack pumper, acts as our mutual aid RIT pumper and Haz-mat support pumper.
Rescue 26 "The South County Powerhouse" Rescue 26 is a 2007 Pierce Dash chassis with a 6 passenger cab and Pierce Extended Rescue Pumper body. It features a 1500 G.P.M. Hale single stage, rear mount pump with a 750 Gal. booster tank, a 50 Gal piston ejection foam system and a 35 Ft. hydraulic mast quartz light tower. This Rescue Pumper is equipped with 2- 200 Ft. hand lines of 1 3/4 in. soft jacket hose preconnected in speed lay, 150 Ft. of 2 1/2 in. soft jacket hose preconnected off the rear bed, 1000 Ft. of LDH in dead lay, 200 Ft. of 1 3/4 in. soft jacket hose in dead lay, 50 Ft. of 1 1/4 hard jacket booster hose on a reel in the front bumper, scene lighting, 48 Ft. of ground ladders, a full compliment of Hurst extrication and lifting equipment mounted on reel out of the right rear compartment and off the front bumper, rollover stabilization equipment, salvage and overhaul equipment, ventilation equipment, IDLH monitoring equipment, water rescue equipment, small mechanics tools, and a full compliment of ropes. Rescue 26 is truly a tool box on wheels.
Tanker 26 "The Water Wagon" Tanker 26 is a 1988 Mack MC chassis with a 5 passenger cab and Pierce Tanker/Pumper body. It features a 1250 G.P.M. 2 stage, mid-mount pump with a 3000 Gal. booster tank. This Tanker is equipped with a 200 Ft. hand line of 1 3/4 in. soft jacket hose preconnected on a reel mounted over the pump, 200 Ft. of 1 3/4 in. soft jacket hose in dead lay, 150 Ft. of 2 1/2 in. soft jacket hose in dead lay, 1000 Ft. of 4 in. LDH in dead lay, 2- 10 Ft. lengths of 6 in. hard suction hose, 69 Ft. of ground ladders, a portable foam eductor system with Class B foam, ventilation equipment, salvage and overhaul equipment. Tanker 26 is a dual purpose tanker. It can act as a supply nurse and it can establish and maintain a draft supply.
263 "The Shuttler" 263 is a 1994 Mack MC chassis with a Swab Class A Pumper body. It features a 1250 G.P.M. Waterous 2 stage, mid-mount pump with a 1000 Gal. booster tank. This Pumper is equipped with 2- 200Ft. handlines of 1 3/4 in. soft jacket hose preconnected in cross lay, 1- 150 Ft. blitz line of 2 1/2 in. soft jacket hose preconnected in cross lay, 150 Ft. of 2 1/2 in. soft jacket hose in dead lay, 200 Ft. of 1 3/4 in. soft jacket hose in dead lay, 1000 Ft. of 4 in. LDH in dead lay, 2- 10 Ft. lengths of 6 in. hard sleeve suction hose, a floating strainer, a PRO PAK foam pack with Class B foam, salvage and overhaul equipment, Chimney clearing equipment, structural hand tools, Hurst Maverik combination tool with hoses and portable generator, Medical bag with oxygen and an A.E.D.
TSU 26 "Route 1 Tactical" TSU 26 is a 1994 4WD Chevrolet 3500 chassis with a crew cab and 8 Ft. bed. This truck features a 12 volt power inverter and an 8 Ft. roll out tray that is equipped with a Hurst Maverik combination tool with hoses and portable generator, vehicle extrication equipment, forceable entry equipment, spill clean up equipment, scene lighting, traffic management equipment, a back board with CID and head blocks, a trauma/medical bag with oxygen, C-spine collar bag and an A.E.D. TSU 26 is utilized as the first apparatus to respond to MVCs on the Rt. 1 corridor that runs through our district because it is light enough that it can travel through and across medians where the larger apparatus can not. TSU 26 also responds to all medical assists and C.P.R. responses.
26 Marine 2 "The Boat" 26 Marine 2 is a 2004 Johnson flat bottom boat. This boat is powered by a Mercury 25 H.P. in-board motor and is equipped with and assortment of equipment that is utilized for pond, tidal, flood, ice and swift water rescues. Since it's inception, 26 Marine 2 has been dispatched to every major flood in Delaware from Claymont to Bowers Beach and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
A26 "Ambulance #1" A26 is a 2003 Ford E450 Chassis with a Horton Emergency Box. This ambulance is equipped with an assortment of medical supplies, oxygen, patient stabilization equipment, and patient extraction equipment. There are 4 portable 800 Mhz radios mounted within the cab and box of the ambulance, 1 for each crew member. There is a battery operated Hurst combination tool that is switched between the 2 ambulances, every 2 weeks the ambulances are switched between primary unit and secondary unit.
B26 "Ambulance #2" B26 is a 2005 Ford E450 Chassis with a Horton Emergency Box. This ambulance is equipped with an assortment of medical supplies, oxygen, patient stabilization equipment, and patient extraction equipment. There are 4 portable 800 Mhz radios mounted within the cab and box of the ambulance, 1 for each crew member. B26 is the first ambulance TFD speced and bought new.
The State of Delaware Special Operations Trailers "S.C.B.A. 26" & "Cache' 26" -S.C.B.A. 26 is a 2004 16 Ft. box trailer built by Foreaker Trailer Sales. This trailer is equipped with 50 full MSA C.B.R.N.E. certified S.C.B.A. airpacks and masks.
-Cache' 26 is a 2004 24 Ft. box traiter built by Foreaker Trailer Sales. This trailer is equipped with 300 Class B Haz-mat suits, masks, air purification canisters, and boots.
Both of these trailers are stored and delivered, by the TFD, to any scene that they are requested for involving a Haz-mat. Supplied by the State of Delaware, these trailers were designed to supply a mass cache' of equipment to any place in the state, for responses that were discovered to be W.M.D. in nature. Together, with the other the cache' trailers from Kent and Sussex Counties, 1000 sets of Class B gear can arrive anywhere in the state within 2 hours of discovery.
Van 26 "The People Mover" Van 26 is a 2001 Chevrolet 12 passenger van. This van is for transporting members to meetings and other fire service events. The TFD Ladies Auxillary also uses the van when their van capacity is too small for the number of their members that are attending meetings.
TLAX Van "The Ladies Van" The TLAX van is a 2005 Ford 7 passenger Astrovan. This van is used by the Ladies Auxillary to transport members to meetings and other fire service events, and to pick up supplies for hall functions that the ladies cater.
261 "The Antique" 261 is a 1946 Chevrolet Fire Apparatus chassis. It features a 250 G.P.M. pump, 500 Gal. booster tank. This pumper is equipped with 100 Ft. of 3 in. soft jacket hose in dead lay, a 200 Ft. of 1 1/4 in. hard jacket booster hose on a reel, 2- 10 Ft. lengths of4 in. hard sleeve suction hose, 38 Ft. in wood ground ladders, assorted nozzle tips, fire extinguisher, scene lights and structural hand tools, all restored to working condition, for display. 261 was an actual responding pumper for us and has only been owned by the department or one of it's members. Today 261 is on display in our fire education center/museum in the north corner of our building. She is our pride and joy.
