The Townsend Volunteer Fire Department is a progressive combination fire department that currently has 86 men and women that are serving as active Volunteer Firefighters, EMT's and Junior Members (cadets) that serve our local and surrounding communities in their times of need. We are supported, between the hours of 5 AM and 3 PM, by 2 Career Firefighter/EMT's, who mainly staff our first due responses for fire and ambulance during this time.
